I am reloading
high-quality rifle ammunition for the .55 calibre Boys Anti-Tank
rifle using either once-fired ammo, .50 cal. BMG cases or once-fired,
original Boys cases (see picture above). I use ADI AR2213SC
powder, CCI #35 BMG primers and an 805 grain CNC
lathe-turned solid copper bullet. All BOYS Rifle reloads are done on
proper equipment with professionally-made dies to give
highly consistent, concentric, and very accurate ammunition.
All BOYS AT rifle cartridge cases are initially full-length sized and neck expanded,
trimmed to consistent length, and have the primer pockets
and case mouths deburred. I have to put a central flash-hole
in the original Berdan-primed Boys rifle cases and deepen the
primer pocket slightly, but there is still a good web
thickness remaining. This reloading process destroys their value as
Boys rifle cartridge collector pieces, although fired BOYS
AT rifle cases aren't worth
all that much to begin with.
Those Boys Anti-tank rifle cases returned for reloading are usually only neck
sized and trimmed unless they remain tight in the chamber,
in which case, I full-length resize them.
If you have any original Boys
Rifle rounds, DO NOT attempt to fire them, as they are now
collector pieces worth much more than my reloads, especially
if they are unusual examples such as BOYS Antitank Rifle practice rounds! Also,
due to deterioration of the cartridge primers, many will not fire, and
a good proportion of those that do will hang-fire.
Boys AT Rifle Rounds or cartridges made from .50 calibre BMG cases
that have been full-length resized require a special loading
technique, and must not be loaded through the magazine or
put directly into the rifle chamber. After they are fire-formed to
a particular chamber and neck sized only, they can then
be used through the BOYS Antitank rifle magazine. Personally, I never used my
BOYS rifle magazines as they tended to scratch the cases.
All Enfield, BSA, BOYS (BOYES)
anti tank rifle loading details,
instructions, and safety hints are included with each lot of
ammunition sold. E-mail me for a BOYS price list within
Australia. Unfortunately, I cannot export this BOYS Rifle ammunition
without a lot of grief, if at all, these days. Even transport
around Australia is now quite restricted and getting
expensive. I am located in the Melbourne area.
